Glasses Drop Off agent guide

Help someone choose complete prescription glasses or new lenses for frames they already own.

When to use this

Use the frame collection for a new pair of glasses. Use the lens tools when the customer is keeping their own frames. If that choice is unclear, ask once which service they want. Carry forward choices already given. Do not infer a prescription, guarantee compatibility or sell a frame alone.

001, 002 and 003 complete pairs start at $129 single vision or $279 progressive. Own-frame lenses start at $99 or $249. Delivery is $12; supported options are $50 each and any tax is additional. Choose one lens style and one finish. AR is optional, and blue-light filtering requires clear lenses and cannot be combined with AR.

Your complete glasses are estimated to ship within 5–7 business days after we confirm your prescription, measurements and frame availability. Delivery transit is additional. Paying or uploading a prescription alone does not start this estimate. Own-frame orders retain their separate service timeline. Availability and optical approval are confirmed manually.

Public endpoints

The four shopping tools are anonymous and require no API key. The fifth tool has separate order authorization. The existing endpoint limits on origin, request size and request rate still apply. A crawler allowance does not remove authentication or change the MCP noindex policy.

Choose the right tool

get_frame_collection: New complete prescription glasses

Browse 001, 002 and 003, or pass an explicit frame, vision, style and finish selection for a price and preserving checkout link.

show_lens_service: An introduction to lenses for your own frames

Use when the customer has not chosen a lens type or asks about the own-frame drop-off or mailing routes. Arguments: {}.

preview_lens_price: A specified own-frame lens choice

Pass the requested single or progressive lens type and supported features. Use this directly for a stated lens choice; do not call the introduction tool first.

get_secure_order_link: Continue an own-frame lens order

Return the secure website link, optionally preserving the customer's selected lenses and features. It does not create an order.

get_my_order_status: A customer's explicitly connected order

Read limited commercial status for that one order with orders:read authorization. Arguments: {}. Let the host offer a secure connection; never request identifiers or access links in chat.

A complete-pair example

For a customer who asks for 003 with progressive light-adaptive lenses and AR, use this tools/call request after normal MCP client initialization:

{
  "jsonrpc": "2.0",
  "id": 1,
  "method": "tools/call",
  "params": {
    "name": "get_frame_collection",
    "arguments": {
      "selection": {
        "frame": "notice",
        "vision": "progressive",
        "style": "adaptive",
        "finish": "ar"
      }
    }
  }
}

The current preview is $391 before tax: $279 complete pair, $50 light-adaptive lenses, $50 AR and $12 delivery. Follow the returned website URL with the selection intact. This call creates no order or payment.

Identity, eligibility and recovery

The intended public labels are 001 for kody, 002 for maintain and 003 for notice. Those stable selection IDs still identify the same frame, color and size; do not rename saved orders or infer an interchangeable frame.

purchaseStatus: website_review_required permits a customer handoff to the website. browse_only does not. availabilityStatus: confirmation_required is not confirmed stock. tryOnStatus: cosmetic_preview_only is not a fit measurement. Other collection colors may be style previews only and are not available to order here. An image or model never activates sales.

When a choice is rejected, explain the supported alternatives and ask what the customer wants to retain. Blue needs clear lenses; AR and blue are alternative finishes. Do not silently remove a feature or substitute a preview-only frame. Fetch current choices after changes; a schema version is not a price revision. Check the exact frame, color, size, lens choices and complete total before presenting a handoff as matched.

The catalog GET has null selection and pricePreview; it is not a quote endpoint with invented parameters. Use the tool for an explicit finite selection. Validate handoffs as HTTPS on glassesdropoff.com, preserve returned choices and let the customer open the link, review the final total and authorize payment. Fetch errors or limits do not justify stale prices, invented stock or repeated retries.

Order access and OAuth discovery

Order access is available through the existing connected ChatGPT integration. Shopping needs no connection. A customer first opens their saved order securely on the website and explicitly permits access to that one order. The separate scope is orders:read. OAuth uses authorization code with S256 PKCE. New client or callback registration and public-directory availability are not implied by these metadata endpoints.

The status tool accepts no order identifier and returns limited commercial progress or notices for only the connected order. It does not expose prescriptions, pictures, fitting measurements, contact information, addresses or payment details. Unavailable means no confirmed update; it does not establish payment, production or shipment. After the customer disconnects access on the website, do not reuse a cached status as a fresh result or request a token in chat.

Continue on the secure website

The customer reviews selections, the final total and any tax before payment on the website. Contact, prescription, fitting and payment information belong there. Current tools cannot create or change orders, charge cards, issue refunds, send messages or purchase from suppliers. A website handoff is not native payment in ChatGPT or Muse. No official CLI, self-serve API-key service or general-purpose order API is offered here.

Use Policies for current privacy and service terms, and Contact for help. Existing saved orders retain their own terms. Do not infer complete-pair protection or returns from the separate own-frame offer.
